Oberoi Hotels & Resorts

Oberoi Hotels & Resorts are one of the most respected, well known and well regarded providers of luxury hotels. Their range of hotels, which cater to both business and leisure travelers, include hotel complexes in Cairo, Egypt, Bali and of course Mauritius.

The Mauritius branch of Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Oberoi Mauritius, is located on the northwest coast of the main island of Mauritius. It is set in grounds of over 20 acres, which includes a private and exclusive 600 meters of beach and seafront. The resort is some 15 kilometers away from the Mauritian capital Port Louis, near the small town of Grand Baie. Grand Baie itself is famed for it’s stunning beaches and lavish golf courses, so even away from the hotel complex, visitors are well connected.

As with all luxury hotels, the amenities and facilities provided at Oberoi Mauritius far outstrip the standard hotel fare of a room and maybe an accompanying restaurant. In fact, the Oberoi Mauritius has a large spa on site. The spa claims to draw from holistic treatments such as Aromatherapy, Ayurveda and Eastern techniques when creating it’s treatments. Within the spa, it is possible to sculpt your body as well as your mind, as meditation and yoga are also available.

Fully relaxed and rejuvenated in mind, body and spirit, guests at the Oberoi Mauritius can there indulge in physical activity using the hotel’s on-site fitness center. A fully equipped gym will help burn the calories indulged in the hotel’s fine dining restaurants, or you can indulge in the outdoor swimming pool or tennis courts.

All of this does come at a price, but nothing too extortionate compared to some of the room rates in Mauritius. The Oberoi Mauritius offers four different types of rooms. The most basic of these are called Luxury Pavilion, which on top of all the usual requisites for a luxurious hotel stay (such as Internet access and satellite television) has a spacious terrace for private dining, as well as a bedroom and a separate living / sitting room. Prices start at €800 per night.

The next level up is the Luxury Villa with Private Garden, which has all of the features of the basic Pavilion but also a private garden, allowing for al fresco dining. Prices start at €1,100 per night. One the next level is the Luxury Villa with Private Pool, which again has all of the features of the Luxury Villa but includes an 8 x 4.5 meter private swimming pool. Prices increase again, starting at around €1600 per night.

The most luxurious and grand accommodation at the Oberoi Mauritius is the Royal Villa. Along with all of the aforementioned features of the Luxury Villa, the Royal Villa is situated in it’s own 650 square meter lush tropical garden. The living room over looks the private pool, which is 55 square meters. There is also an outdoor dining pavilion For all of this wonder and opulence, prices begin at €2,600 per night.
