China is one among the oldest civilizations on the earth with around 4,000 years of history. China had the well developed society and economy before 19th century but the decline began through consecutive dynasties. Civil wars, imperialism and internal weakness during 19th and 20th century declined the economy as well as the country itself. In the year 1949, the civil war of China led the formation of two different states known as the People’s Republic of China and Republic of China. People’s Republic of China which is now called as China has the control of mainland of China, Hong Kong and Macau whereas Republic of Chine which is now Taiwan has the control over Taiwan, Matsu, Penghu, Kinmen, Pratas island group and other islands.
China is a land of many inventions such as customs, writing systems and religion which have been adopted by Korea, Japan and Vietnam. China has the oldest writings in the world. Geographically, the country has plateaus, mountains and lower lands. Throughout the history of china, the official philosophy of the country is Confucianism. In the history of China, several ethnic groups were existed. Han is the largest among them and now the People’s Republic of China has the largest population in the world.
In terms of economy, China is an example of state capitalism in 21st century. The youths are relatively small in number while considering the whole population which is due to the one-child policy of China. This policy of China has prevented about 350-400 millions of birth since 1979. Now, the population of China has become more than 1.3 billion. Majority of the Chinese languages belong to Sino-Tibetan family of languages. About 70% of the population in China speaks Madarin and other languages are Wu, Min, Gan, Hakka, Xiang, Yue, Tibetan, Mongolian, Korean, Uyghur, Zhuang and Hmong. Some of the religions in China are Confucianism, Taoism, Islam, Christianity and Islam.
China is one among the hottest tourist destinations in the world and the country is third visited country of the world. One of the most popular tourist destinations of the country is the Great Wall of China which is one among the Seven Wonders of the World. Beijing, capital city of China is a very popular destination and the tourists are flocking in to the city every year. You can find Summer Palace, temple of Heaven, Great Wall and Forbidden City at Beijing.
Shanghai, largest city of the country offers various tourist attractions such as museums, gardens, parks, Shanghai Zoo and may more. Shenzhen is a city famous for shopping and Guangzhou is an old city with religious shrines and historical buildings. Dahanyang Peak is famous for scenic beauty with wonder peaks, historical sites and waterfalls. Some of the scenic spots here are Flowerpath, Jingxiu Valley, Donglin Temple, Immortal’s Cavern, Lulin Lake, Hanpo Pass, ThreeStep Spring, Lushan Museum and Lushan Botanical gardens. Peking man site is listed by UNESCO as the World Cultural Heritage site where the archaeologist found a whole skull of the ape-man of 600,000 years back and other evidences.
