China is one among the oldest civilizations on the earth with around 4,000 years of history. China had the well developed society and economy before 19th century but the decline began through consecutive dynasties. Civil wars, imperialism and internal weakness during 19th and 20th century declined the economy as well as the country itself. In the year 1949, the civil war of China led the formation of two different states known as the People’s Republic of China and Republic of China. Majority of the Chinese languages belong to Sino-Tibetan family of languages. About 70% of the population in China speaks Madarin and other languages are Wu, Min, Gan, Hakka, Xiang, Yue, Tibetan, Mongolian, Korean, Uyghur, Zhuang and Hmong. Some of the religions in China are Confucianism, Taoism, Islam, Christianity and Islam.

One of the most popular tourist destinations of the country is the Great Wall of China which is one among the Seven Wonders of the World.
