Iran is located between Central Asia and Middle East and the country is sharing borders with Azerbaijan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Armenia, Turkey and Turkmenistan. Iran provides freedom to worship for religions such as Zoroastrians, Jews and Christians. Iran is one among the largest countries all over world and is in the eighteenth place. Iran also enjoys eighteenth place all over the globe in terms of economy. Iran has the world ranking of second for natural gas reserves and third place for having oil reserves. The official language of Iran is Persian and other tribal and regional languages are also used for communication.
The highest peak in the country is the Mount Damavand. Wildlife of Iran constitute of various species of animals that includes wolves, wild pigs, bears, panthers, foxes, Eurasian lynx, jackals and gazelles. Some of the native species of Iran are falcon, eagles, pheasant, partridge and stork. Iran rates the highest among the world in terms of urban population. Tehran is the capital city and the largest city with highest population among the Iranian cities. Some of the other major cities of Iran are Isfahan, Mashhad, Tabriz, Karaj, Shiraz, Ahvaz and Qom.
Iran is well known for its culture, art, architecture, cuisines and heritage spots. Iran is popular for its artistic traditions and talent in the history of the world.
