Sheraton Hotel Abu Dhabi

The Sheraton Hotel and resort complex is one of the most popular accommodation in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; it is currently ranked as fifth most popular, from a possible 55, on the holiday rating website TripAdvisor. Considering Abu Dhabi is fast becoming one of the most popular locations for exotic holidays for Western visitors, and there are luxury hotels within the city, this recommendation is a good one. Being ranked in the top five of the best hotels in Abu Dhabi is akin to the very best in many countries; Abu Dhabi is quite unlike many tourist resorts, in that it caters almost exclusively to the luxury and business markets.

The Sheraton Abu Dhabi is located on Corniche Road, as are many of the luxury hotels in the city. This makes it a hub for the tourist scene, and numerous offsite bars, restaurants and nightclubs have appeared to surround the freshly built tourist accommodation – staying at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi means you will never be short of things to see and do. Corniche Road itself looks out onto the Arabian Gulf, with the actual beach only a short walk away.

It is the location of the Sheraton Abu Dhabi that helps propel it to its high ranked status among {Abu Dhabi hotels}. As well as being located on the famous Corniche Road, it is also within close proximity to many of the tourism highlights of Abu Dhabi. Camel racing is an awe inspiring – and extremely amusing for most – sight, and the hotel is only 30 miles by road from the official racetrack. Also, the world renowned Gold Souk is under a mile away; the Gold Souk being a fantastically opulent Arabian market, which features over 300 retailers who predominantly trade in jewellery. The Gold Souk itself is a stunning place to visit, and if it wets one’s shopping appetite, the famous Abu Dhabi Mall is only a few miles from the hotel also.

Given this tremendous location, one would expect the Sheraton Abu Dhabi to live up to it; and thankfully, it does. There are 272 rooms at the Sheraton, all of which have accompanying balconies from which to enjoy the Arabian heat. Rooms predominantly feature wood panelling and soft, contemporary decorations, and all feature a must for any stay in Abu Dhabi; room controlled air conditioning. Wireless internet is also available in all rooms, as well as direct dial telephones and satellite television; all included in the room rate. Also, some of the rooms allow smoking; an increasingly rare offering in the age of the smoking ban.

The first rate amenities don’t just stop at the rooms, as they also extend to the entire hotel complex itself. Whatever you could possibly want from a hotel, the Sheraton Abu Dhabi is able to supply. There is a private beach, for use only by hotel guests, and two large swimming pools which are complete with swim up pool bars. For a fully relaxing experience, there are also numerous spa and leisure activities, and even as on site nightclub or fitness centre to work up a sweat in before enjoying the calming treatments available.
