Sugar Beach Mauritius

If looking for somewhere to stay on the breathtaking, awe-inspiring island of Mauritius, look no further than the Sugar Beach Mauritius hotel resort and complex.

The hotel is styled in keeping with a traditional plantation, which essentially means lots of greenery and traditional Mauritian style buildings. It sits neatly within standard Mauritian architecture, offering guests a chance to be as much as part of Mauritian history as the land on which the hotel is situated. The hotel is spread over 12 hectares, including over half a hectare of private beaches, available only to the guests at the hotel.

Location-wise, any visitor to the Sugar Beach Mauritius is well placed. The hotel sits on the West coast of Mauritius, with easy access to the port and Mauritian capital Port Louis. Also nearby is Curepipe, one of the biggest commercial areas of the island, full of restaurants and shopping boutiques. From here, one can enjoy the glory of the Indian Ocean beaches as well as visit the more urbanized areas for a true Mauritian experience.

The Sugar Beach Mauritius has plenty of space when it comes to accommodating it’s hoards of guests, with 162 standard rooms (40 square meters), 92 superior rooms (40 square meters) and a two-suite villa (80 square meters). The entire hotel is themed in pale green and white, maintaining a natural calmness that the geographical setting of the Sugar Beach Mauritius naturally provides. Every room has a fully stocked mini bar, satellite television, LCD flat screen TVs, individually controlled air conditioning and WIFI Internet access (although this is an additional fee). The main difference between the standard and superior rooms is the bathroom; a standard room has a bath and shower combined, whereas in the superior rooms the two are separate.

On site, there is plenty to see and do. A shopping emporium is included in the complex, for those who wish to indulge a little retail therapy during their stay. There are eight different bars and restaurants in which to sate thirst and hunger, and room service is also available 24 hours a day.

Available on-site activities – some of which are included in the room rate, while others are available for a nominal fee – include tennis, kayaking, glass-bottom boat trips, snorkeling, water skiing and windsurfing and various forms of water polo. You can also stretch your experience with a horse-riding expedition or go mountain biking, swim in the 2000-meter square pool or work out in the 300 square meter gym.

With all this and more available at the Sugar Beach Mauritius, for many it just becomes a matter of price. A four-night-five-days all inclusive package costs around $1250 year-round for a standard room, with more deluxe accommodation for the same period costing up to $2225. Airport transfers are available for a fee, with a range of vehicles available. Prices are reasonable when compared to some of the other five-star resorts on Mauritius, meaning you soon could make the Sugar Beach Mauritius your base on this most beautiful of Indian Ocean islands.
